Why Do You Need a Radiator Flush?

Flushing your radiator every 40,000 miles or so has numerous benefits. It cleanses the rust and contaminants that build up in your radiator overtime. This grit can corrode your radiator, limiting its performance as well as how long it will last. The process also helps lubricate your water pump, helping to lengthen the lifetime of the pump. Most mechanics will also do a complete inspection of your radiator when they flush the system, including using pressure tests to check for leaks. The new antifreeze will introduce new additives will also help prevent further rust and contamination. These will also prevent foaming in the system as well as increase the efficiency of the system. It’s a fairly inexpensive repair job that can seriously lengthen the performance of your heating and cooling system.
