When’s the Last Time You Had Your Radiator Flushed?
If you can’t remember, you are clearly overdue. Most mechanics recommend you flush your radiator every 40,000 to 60,000 miles, or about every other year, depending on how many miles you drive. It is essential to maintain an efficient radiator system. Flushing your radiator should be on your checklist for preparing for winter.
A radiator flush empties out the old radiator fluid and runs another cycle of clean radiator fluid through again. This new cycle is also removed in order to rid your system of any dirt, grime and other contaminants. It prevents build up in your radiator, helping it to run more efficiently, last longer, and perform better.
Regularly flushing your radiator will also lubricate the water pump, lengthening its life. And while we are flushing your radiator, we’ll inspect your entire system. This way you can spot any potential problems before they become problems, rather than when you’re stranded on the side of the road in a snowstorm.
