Remembering the 2014 Recall Over a Jaguar Electrical Issue
Jaguar makes beautiful cars, but like anything mechanical, problems will occur from time to time, including electrical issues. Back in 2014, Jaguar actually issued a recall on 7,079 2014-’15 Jaguar F-Type convertibles to fix an incorrect wiring problem. The issue involved a front-passenger airbag not activating properly. Essentially, the seatbelt harness was not properly wired, which affected the sensors that activated the air bag. The sensors might also not be able to detect the installation of a child seat or the presence of a smaller person. “In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the front-passenger airbag, a child or small stature occupant may be at an increased risk of injury,” NHTSA stated.
