When You Should Take Your Battery to a Car Electrical Specialist

This is why mechanics that specialize in electrical work will do complete diagnostics on the entire electrical system to better troubleshoot the problem. The battery cables should also be checked for corrosion. If the battery is corroded, all it generally takes is a stiff metal brush to remove the rust. If it’s the alternator giving you trouble, you may need to replace it.
