Posted 9/30/16

Own a Landrover 2006 or newer? There might be a recall issued for your european made brakes. According to Car and Driver, 99,327 Range Rover models dating back to 2006 are being recalled due to faulty brake hoses that can rupture, citing filings with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

There are 2 separate recalls for the vehicles in the US. One covers the 2013-2014 Range Rover and 2014 Range Rover Sport for brake vacuum hoses that may have been improperly routed. The vacuum hose rubs against other parts of the car and breaks, disabling the power assist. About 24,679 vehicles are affected. Dealerships started covering the recall in March.

The second recall affects the previous generation of Landrovers, the 2006-2012 Range Rover. The vehicles front brake fluid hoses can rupture, disabling the front brakes. Dealers started reporting bulges in certain spots back in 2010, which led to the recall.
