Even as recent as this past September, pundits like Forbes last fall were predicting the VW emissions scandal would be the end of Volkswagen with bankruptcy on the horizon.
Our Volkswagen mechanics were much more confident the company would rebound. Sure, VW ordering its technicians to rig its electronic systems to cheat on emissions tests was a big deal, but correctable. And when you consider the limited repairs most Volkswagens require that has built their trustworthy reputation, we knew the car company would put this mess behind them. It may put the brakes on VW for the time being, but no, the car company isn’t about to go extinct.
A Top Selling Automobile
Time has proven to be on VWs side. This past January, the European car company pushed out Toyota to become the biggest car company in the world.
“…global sales last year inched up 0.2% to 10.2 million vehicles,” CNN reported. “That leaves it behind the 10.3 million that VW (VLKAY) delivered over the same period.”
It’s easy to see why. Volkswagen has been known to not need extensive scheduled maintenance. It’s a solid, reliable vehicle that doesn’t need much repair, aside from the occasional brake job and radiator flush caused by usual wear and tear.
