It’s important to have the car looked at whenever you see a light, even the often harmless check engine light, just to be on the safe side. Ignoring any dashboard warning risks breakdown as well as damage to the engine itself. But even beyond dashboard warnings, there are certain repairs that should be done regularly to ensure peak performance. Brakes should be checked every 15,000 miles. Spark plugs should be replaced every 15,000 miles. Air conditioning should be inspected every 5,000 miles.
