Do You Need a Radiator Flush?
Should you flush your radiator? Most mechanics recommend doing it every 40,000 to 60,000 miles. It will help prevent your car from overheating and maintain a more efficient system. The process removes the original radiator fluid and replaces it with a new solution of antifreeze mixed with water. That mixture is then circulated through the system to dissolve and remove any solids and contaminants in your radiator. When the cycle is complete, that mixture is then removed and replaced with fresh. It’s a good thing to put on your to-do list, especially if you live in a climate that has harsh winters.
