Car Troubleshooting 101 for Dummies
When it comes to troubleshooting your own car problems, you don’t need to be an expert mechanic to have a pretty good idea when something’s wrong. Pay attention to any dripping fluids. Whether it’s brake fluid, steering fluid, coolant, or oil, that fluid is important to the operating function of your car. When you park, try sticking a piece of cardboard underneath and pay attention to any fluid stains the next day. Clanking or creaking sounds in your car could be a sign of worn out suspension. A prolonged squealing under the hood could be a sign of a bad belt. Have the belt tightened or replaced.
