Most car manufacturers recommend you flush your radiator every 40,000 to 65,000 miles. And it certainly doesn’t hurt to flush it before then since that helps clean the engine and prevent dirt and rust build up in the engine. It’s a good repair to keep up on because it helps maintain an efficient radiator and also helps prevent the vehicle from overheating. Basically, the original fluid is removed from the radiator and replaced with new coolant mixed 50-50 with water. The new mixture is then ran through the system, drained and replaced again. This serves to remove dirt and other contaminants from the system.
