Quality European Cars on a Budget: 2021’s Moderately Priced Picks

Posted 5/31/21

Though most people (for good reason) associate European cars with luxury, they also associate them with a hefty price tag. Luckily for us, however, Car and Driver took the time to put together a list of some of 2021’s cheapest luxury vehicles—which includes a few more reasonably priced European models. Let’s see who made the cut.

BMW is the Current Champion of Low Cost Luxury in 2021

BMW’s offerings on this list has to make the person hunting for a reasonably priced low cost luxury car sit up and pay attention. We have BMW’s sporty 2-Series Coupe, their 2-Series Gran Coupe (which is confusingly, a sedan) and the X1, a fun little crossover all on this list. Each fits into their own niche of what someone looking for a new car might want, and has the BMW badge and sportiness to boot. And even better news, each of these BMWs is priced under $37,000, which is a number that everyone seeking a little luxury can get behind.

Volvo and Audi Make the Cut for Their Smaller SUVs

Want a Volvo? How about an Audi? Paying less than $35,000 sound good to you? Volvo’s subcompact  XC40 made the cut with its unique styling choices and fun, chunky design. Audi’s Q3 is another excellent choice with some changes to the base engine making the standard version more affordable than ever.

A Handful of Mercedes: A Crossover, A Sedan and . . . A Van?

The list contains 3 Mercedes-Benz options, though one is somewhat unlike the others. Mercedes are known for their deluxe style and an effortlessly recognizable badge.  This can add a little luxury to anything from the GLA-Class Crossover SUV ($37,280), to their sleek, petite A-Class ($34,700), even up to their distinctly non-sporty Metris cargo van ($34,125).

2021’s shaping up to have quite a few inexpensive luxury cars that are sure to fill nearly any unique niche that you may have, whether it be for a sporty coupe or a place to keep all of those plumbing tools for your side business.

Choosing the Perfect Automobile Repair Shop for Your Classic Car

Owning a classic car takes a special type of person. Classic cars may not always be the quickest on the road today—and they definitely don’t have Bluetooth—but they have an unmatched style and craftsmanship that can’t be found in newer models. Though part of classic car ownership is taking the time to fine-tune every part of your car, sometimes even the most dedicated owners may need some help. Always look for a car garage that specializes in repair and maintenance on classic cars, so you get help from someone who knows your baby almost as well as you.
