How long will the scheduled maintenance be covered if you buy a new Porsche? In Europe, it’s an impressive 15 years, nearly long enough to raise a kid to driving age. Though you might want to break them in on the Saab, and leave the Porsche for Dad (or Mom)!
Porsche just extended its warranty by 5 years for a total of 15 years. Porsche Club News explains:
“Until now, pre-owned cars could be insured under the Porsche Approved Programme provided that they were ten years old or less. From May 1, 2017, this programme will be available for vehicles that are up to 15 years old. This offer allows Porsche to provide its pre-owned car customers with security that is comparable with that of a new car’s warranty.”
So far, the warranty extension only covers Germany, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Poland, Greece, Malta, Slovenia, Luxembourg and Bulgaria. It will likely eventually cover the US as well, but only time will tell.
Trust in Porsche’s Performance
“Taking this step emphasises our trust in the quality of our vehicles and lets us once again set the standard”, says Barbara Vollert, Vice President Sales Network Management and Development at Porsche AG.
So the next time you bring your car in and say, “Hey, fix my Porsche,” check with our Porsche technicians to see if the warranty is still good. You might be surprised. Porsche has one of the best scheduled maintenance warranties in the business, which makes sense. It’s an awesome car. We’ll place money on that.
