Porsche Does 911 Fans a Solid with the GT3

Posted 2/12/18

Porsche just gave our Porsche mechanics an early Christmas present.

The company unveiled the new 911 GT3 with Touring Package ahead of the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. It essentially turns the GT3 into a more affordable 911R.

So yeah, we’re fattening our piggy banks and writing an email to Santa.

As any Porsche or European car enthusiast knows, Porsche 911Rs have been hard to come by, ever since Porsche introduced the limited edition 911R in 2016.

As Business Insider explains:

“For 911 fanatics, it was an oasis of purity in an age of turbo engines, twin-clutch gear boxes, and all-wheel-drive.

The 991 911R production cars soon became harder to come by than Porsche’s multi-million dollar 918 hypercar, leaving many of the brand’s fans high and dry.”

911s Going for 2X Sticker Price

As Business Insider points out, Porsche 911Rs had been going at auction sites for nearly double their original sticker price of nearly $185,000. And the piggy banks at our auto garage simply aren’t that fat, even with the scheduled maintenance plan.

The touring package of the GT3 starts at $143,000. You can order now with delivery expected in early 2018.

Follow Through on Your BMW Scheduled Maintenance

BMW’s are handy, reliable cars. But like much in life, you get out what you put in. Give them plenty of love, and they’ll love you back. For starters, stick to your scheduled maintenance plan for your BMW like clockwork. These aren’t scams by the dealership just to see your happy face a few times a year. They are routine and necessary maintenance repairs designed to optimize the lifespan of your BMW. It’s also important to have your brakes checked regularly, ideally before the pads are worn off and your rotors are chewed up like an old dog toy. And be sure to keep up on regular oil changes. It will ensure your BMW runs smooth and reliably for years to come.
