Porsche: The Ultimate “Disruptors” of the Car World

If you’ve never heard of the term before, in the car mechanic community, the word “disruptor” has a pretty important meaning. If you’ve made a disruptor, you’ve hit the big time.  A disruptor is a car that does exactly that—it disrupts. It disrupts the status quo, and forces all automakers across the board to start thinking a little differently. A disruptor is a car that is so unique or innovative that it changes the game. And Porsche has made disruptors again and again.

Two of the notable disruptors in Porsche’s stable are the 356 that began it all and the 911 that fully cemented Porsche’s reputation as something special two decades later.

Looking Back While Looking Forward: The Porsche Panamera

When the documentary was originally created, it was to complement and support the new Panamera, which was set to hit the market soon after the documentary’s release.

“As with past campaigns, such as the hologram and interactive ads from last year, C-K and Porsche have focused on creating innovative and experiential content for the viewer, according to the agency,” writes MediaPost’s Tanya Gazdik. “Now, in the film format, the brand bolsters its story of disruption and gives enthusiasts a behind-the-scenes look at the new Panamera.”

Porsche Fans Will Love the Interviews, Amazing Footage

The documentary has interviews with Porsche historian Dieter Landenberger and Porsche engineers. It also features footage from the Porsche Experience Center in Los Angeles, The Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany, and at Research and Development for Porsche in Weissach, Germany. So, if you are interested in Porsches, have a Porsche, or just want some more information before you take it in for Porsche scheduled maintenance, take a look at the documentary for some fascinating information.

Does Your European Car Need New Brakes?

Your life literally depends on your brakes working properly. Make sure they are in top working condition. Pay attention to how the brakes on your European vehicle handle. If you hear a high pitch screeching sound, you’ve likely worn past the metal shim, which indicates you need a brake job. If your brakes aren’t responsive or you feel the braking power start to fade, you might want to get them inspected. If your vehicle pulls to one side or the other while braking, chances are one side has become worn. And if your brake pedal pulsates when you press the brakes, chances are the rotor is shot. Time to call the brake man.
