Volvo’s New XC Series: Luxury on Wheels

Posted 1/22/18

Our Volvo mechanics are counting the pennies in their piggy banks. It will cost them 4,249,500 cents, including a $995 destination charge, to buy a 2018 Volvo XC60 when it goes on sale this fall.

For that chunk of change, you get a 250-horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, all-wheel-drive, and a slew of standard equipment. XC60 T5 models sport a panoramic sunroof, leather seats, Volvo’s signature “Thor’s Hammer” LED headlights, and Apple Carplay and Android Auto capability.

Though pricing options have yet to be announced, optional features include massaging and ventilated leather seats, a premium Bowers & Wilkins sound system, and four-corner air suspension.

Compact Luxury for a Price

The XC60 T6 features a stiffer price of $45,895 but features the brand’s turbocharged and supercharged engine pumping out 316 hp also paired with AWD. The XC60 T8 tops the series with a $53,895 price tag. That extra money buys you a “twin-engine” plug-in hybrid powertrain featuring the turbocharged and supercharged 4-cylinder as well as an electric motor to bring total horsepower to 400, and features electric all-wheel-drive.

The new lineup comes out this fall.

Should You Trust Your Cincinnati OH Auto Repair Shop?

Looking for a quality auto repair garage in Cincinnati Ohio? First, make sure the shop is ASE and I-CAR certified. Both are organizations that train technicians to follow a strict set of industry standards. A reputable garage will only hire mechanics who are certified through one or both organizations. Also be sure that all work performed is backed by a guaranteed warranty, perhaps even a lifetime warranty, depending on the repair. Make sure the company is well rated through the Better Business Bureau rating (BBB) and recommended by the AAA. It’s also a good idea to run the shop by friends, family and co-workers to see if they’ve had any experiences they’d like to share.
