If you’re like our Cincinnati car mechanics, you live and breathe European cars, everything from the hod rod roasters that just peeled out of the lot to the antique beauties that are practically history on wheels. At European Auto Mechanics, we love great cars, and we can’t get enough of them. But sadly, we work at an auto repair shop in Cincinnati, not Hollywood, so our collection will always be tinker toys compared to the garages of celebrities.
Still, even us little guys love peeking over the fence to check out the hot rod collections of the rich and famous. This post from the Richest has 13 celebrities with some of the craziest car collections in the universe—here are some of the most impressive collectors.
Nicholas Cage: You Know the Face, Now Get to Know His Cars
Though Nick Cage has been through some financial difficulties over the past years, he once commanded the type of earning power that netted him a car collection that would be the envy of just about any car enthusiast. With a focus on old, rare and imported vehicles, the list of cars that graced his garage at one time or another is truly impressive. Some highlights include a 1938 Bugatti T57C Atalante Coupe, a 1955 Jaguar D-Type, and a 1959 Ferrari California 250 GT LWB Spyder (any Ferris Buller fans?).
Jerry Seinfeld: A Funny Guy and His Cars
Jerry Seinfeld is well known for his long-running tv show and stand-up comedy acts. He perhaps less well known for his love of collecting cars—especially Porsches. Some of the Porsches in his collection include a 1944 Porche 550 Spyder, a 1970 Porche 911S, and a 1949 Porsche 356/2. Some of the cars in his collection that aren’t Porsches include a 1952 Volkswagen Bug and a 1963 VW Karmann Ghia.
Jay Leno: You Knew He was Going to Be On this List
One of the most notorious celebrities when it comes to car collections has to be Jay Leno. The man uses an airport hangar to store collection it’s so large. So we all know that he collects the cars, but what are some of the highlights of his collection? We have a McLaren F1, an Ariel Atom (featured on this classic Top Gear segment), a 1986 Lamborghini Countach, and interestingly enough a 1906 Stanley Steamer Cup Racer which is, in fact, powered by steam.
The Rappers, Boxers and Wrestlers Who Love Cars
Though we might have been able to guess a few of the celebrities on this list, who knew Funkmaster Flash took time out of the recording studio to tinker with restoring vintage cars? Or that Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather has spent over $7 million on adult size Hot Wheels toys for his garage? Even former WWE wrestler and pro football player Bill Goldberg is into vintage car repair.
Yep, time we all quit our jobs, and start rapping, boxing or wrestling so we too can live the garage dreams of these celebrity stars!
