When it comes to Mercedes repair, the mechanics at European Auto Specialists in Cincinnati are often asked how often to change the brake fluid. We recommend every two years or 20,000 miles, whichever comes first. Replacing the brake fluid requires approved pressure bleeding machines and “DOT 4 plus” brake fluid. This ensures proper evacuation of the fluid to ensure that the braking components are not damaged, as well as making sure the brake fluid is moisture free. If non-approved fluids are used or the braking fluid is contaminated, you may cause severe damage to the components, or worse, experience complete brake failure.
